Hello Lost Saga Heroes,

We have received many reports regarding non-English users in the game.  We would like to remind everyone that OGPlanet games serve US and Canada in English as its primary and only language, for it is the language that many of our staff members as well as users in game can understand.  For those who send us Help Desks in a language other than English, we will not be able to help you as we won't be able to understand your problem.

English is the official language in Lost Saga
. Players MUST be able to speak English as their primary language of communication in order to avoid language barrier disputes as well as to communicate with Game Masters (GM) that are attempting to contact you and other players in games.  If you wish to speak to your friends in another language besides English in a match,
we require that you name the battle room with Abbreviations of the language that will be spoken in that room.

Ex.

“FR – come French players!”,
“BR – BRAZILIAN DEATHMATCH!”

This applies to Plazas as well.  Failure to do this can and will result in suspension from playing the game.  Please keep in mind that GMs are always monitoring the game, even on their private accounts.  If they step into a Room without the Abbreviation and spot players speaking non-English, players will be penalized.

We do not have any intentions to discriminate non-English users.  North American Lost Saga is a game that provides service to US and Canada where English is a primary language, and we are trying our very best to make a good community.  This has grown to become a very sensitive issue on the forums and it will get worse as the official game launches.

We would like all the users to know that we are creating this system in order to provide an option to choose the rooms by language AND to prevent further conflict in this particular issue.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding this issue feel free to contact the Help Desk or post them up here.

If a player is located in a country outside of North America but can speak English. Are they allowed to play in English speaking rooms as long as they speak it as well despite the latency issues?

Expect me to be gone for awhile, Ghost and StarCraft 2 related issues.

As long as they can speak english, they can enter english-speaking rooms.

What we're worried about are people that will take advantage of those who doesn't understand other languages.  Like..

Player One: "Blah blah blardity blar blar"

Player Three: "OMG Player One called Player TWO "Blah!"

Player Two: *GASP*  REPORT!

Of course this is just one of the things we might get.  However this is still quite a new game here in NA.  If there are more issues about the users not from NA, we'll try and solve it as best we can :3

You could always choose to label your room with your region to avoid such issues. Say, if you are from North America, put a NA on the name. If you are from Europe, put an EU, etc.
I know some people won't care and still join a room, but there are some that will probably look for rooms closer to their region.

Take my case for example. I'm from Mexico, but I speak English and I'm comfortable with that, and since I'm pretty close to the US, I rarely have latency issues. But, I do experience lag when playing with European/Asian players, so if there was a room labeled NA, I would probably choose that one.

By the way support208: BR is not a language.

How would you note they aren't from NA if they can speak proper english? =p. Des`pite the fact they lag, they can be from NA and have a lousy connection

Correction: You Experience Lag From People That Is In Europe and Asia. You Know There Are Also Asian and European That's In NA

Well Brazillians should play in their own rooms and french should play in their own rooms, but i suggest an ip block before any astros is invested.

I notice there's alot of brazillian or other foreign players ( outside us and can ) Their lag is extremely horrible for other players

I suggest you create a dual server to support their country area or Ip block the other countries.

I was thinking of investing some money for Astros but looks like people in NA don't like outsiders. I'm gonna wait a few weeks or months in case there's an ip banned.

The server is pretty much empty now and i wonder how it will be if it's only NA players.

Yeah. Not investing anything either. OGP should simply confirm if they plan on IP blocking eventually, or if there's another solution. I for one would like to buy some stuff, but I won't if there's a risk of getting IP blocked the next day.

i have nothing against you guys...but IP blocking would be a good solution

because players from different countries tend to lag, but only the other players notice. So you guys may think everything's fine but really none of us can see you or hit you. So it would only be fair for the NA community unless OGP can find a solution for the lag issues.

Actually Origin, it's a P2P connection. If I lag to you, you lag to me. In other words, if you can't hit me I can't hit you either.

Remember distance plays an important factor in P2P connections as well. So a person from one side of Canada playing with another person from the other side of the US will experience lag.

I don't mind if they IP block, they always do. Just have this in mind: when they IP blocked RF people didn't get the chance to spend Astros on stuff. Right now, LS is open to everyone, and it has an active cash shop, so people from outside the US & Canada can and might buy heroes and what not, to get IP blocked eventually.

You can see where I'm going with this. Imagine the complaints and everything that might come from it.

Come to think of it, when I played CBT, there was very little to no lag. Could it be because all the players we're from NA? Or because there were a few players?

The problem is if we let other countries enter who knows people from even further places mind join, all the connections is going to ruin the game. Ogp needs to think far.

Well i think that would be better if optional,as an example if they add next the player name a small flag icon telling where is him/her from, and also in room creation allow the creator to choose to block entrance for certain countries, i know its like an utopia, but it wont be too hard to script, since they can detect the country just allow ip ban only in certain rooms...
Today i played with a lot ppl from any places and i had no lag, just some laggy teleport glitches but it was not too much..only a few times, this ogp games seems lag free to mee, im from argentina and im use to have hard lag with a lot games except this and la tale. Adding a -BR or -SP or -ENG will not make them stay away from your room, they can just get inside and avoid talking.....

^-- That'd be good an all, but this game is made from Korean. You'd have to ask IO Entertainment to make that feature. But I agree with you, this wouldn't limit foreigners to join regular rooms.

Guys u all shouldn't play Rumble Fighters, on RF had many ppl lagging on No IPBlock and after IPBlock for Non-English, still guys lagging. Another player of North America or Canada can lag for the some country player, like a brazilian player can lag for another brazilian player. This isn't about country or something, that problem is on the connections of these guys, have ppl using a connection with 12mbps, and when have guys with 120kbps.

If u have a really good connection like me u should hit everyone, because I saw guys hitting the air thinking I'm still there, these guys are more simple to kill because them can't find where I'm stay because their lags.

You should go do research on how internet connection works it isn't like magic; connection has to travel distances, and if the distance is rather long then the connection has to travel even a longer distance.

Yeah internet isn't like magic, magic is so poor, save ur magic on ur dreams, because u will not get it on real world, that is why internet is the best, I think u never played a MMORPG or another style of game on Korean Servers, u don't take any lag, nothing from u nothing for another player, if u speak about distance Korean should give more lags because the distance, but with their best network connection, anything like magic looks so poor...

But, I will stop to talk about that, this isn't about Post Discussion... u are welcome!

I play Rumble Fighter, it barely lags, but with someone out of another country, it lags bad.

But still, what does this have to even do with the topic? This is about Lost Saga, not lag for other countries or Rumble Fighter.
