Reduce Lag
(note: This works for a lot of games too)

Hello people of RF, I know it has been pretty laggy lately and if your aren't, you obviously seen a lot of other people lagging. So I'm going to help the community out with some suggestions to reduce the lag a bit, because no one likes playing against a "SuperSaiyen" using the warp skill or invincible (aka God) mode. Anyways lets begin.

First off turn off as many program as possible on your taskbar (located lower-right corner of your screen)

Second I suggest that you have Mozilla Firefox as your main browser, because Mozilla pwns internet explorer security wise and speed wise. If you don't have Mozilla then download it from here: or type www.mozilla.com in your address bar if link doesn't work.

Third, set your Rumble Fighter to run in 640x480 reso. I doubt this would be useful if your comp can usually handle high resolution, but give it a try. I did it on my comp which runs 1440x1280 reso (its around those numbers) and it looked like it reduced my lag a bit. Like 5% or so....

Fourth, you can set Rumble Fighter to high priority. For those who don't know how to, I'll explain it here:

Open up RumbleFighter first. Then go into your task manager by either holding crtl+alt and pressing delete or right click your desktop bar and opening it up manually.

After that, click on the process tab. A list of program will be listed that are currently running, scroll down and search for RumbleFighter (it is in alphabetical order, so it shouldn't be that hard).

Ok after you find Rumble Fighter right click it and select change priority; select high and your done. If you having trouble because of a not very smart "Access Denied" warning then click show processes from all users and try again. You should be able to do it this time, if not I'm out of ideas... mad

That is all the suggestion I have right now to help with the lag, but if you want even more less lag then read the tips listed below. Thanks for reading.

Tips

#1. Try to speed up your Mozilla Firefox speed, it's pretty simple. Type "about:config" in the address bar and click the "I'll be careful" button.  Then in the filter type "network.http.pipelining".
Four address should pop-up, if not ignore it.

First make sure "network.http.pipelining" and "network.http.pipelining.firstrequest" is set on true. Double click'em if they're not.

This next address is pretty important, so pay attention.

Find "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests", then right-click it and select modify. Change the value between 10-200. Mine is set to 150 for the moment. Don't set it to 999,999,999,999 please. You will anger the web administrater for crashing their site and it is pretty easy to find out that you did it. And yes you'll get banned from the website including Myspace,Facebook,Youtube,Google,RUMBLEFIGHTER, etc....

Last one, makesure network.http.pipelining.ssl is on false and your done!!!!! Yay!!!tongue

#2 This one is pretty risky, use it at your own risk. Supposively this one is for PRO computer experts, so yea it really dangerous. It can screw up your computer if not done right. If you're afraid of losing your comp, you have a good reason to be. XD

Well for those risk takers and experts.... Here we go.....

Go to run and type in: "Regedit" then open up HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Look for the folder named "system" and open it.
Find "CurrentControlSet" and open it
Find "Services" and open it
SCROLLLLLLL till you find "Tcpip" (DON'T GET THIS CONFUSED WITH TCPIP6!!!!)
Find "parameters" and open it.
Find "interface" and RIGHT-CLICK it.
Make a new "DWORD" called "TcpAckFrequency"
Then make another "DWORD" and call it "TCPNoDelay"
Set both of their hexadecimals to 1, to do this just right-click and click modify.
Restart your comp. This is important.

After your done, go to your control panel and choose uninstall/remove programs.
Select turn window feature on/off and find Microsoft Message Qeue (MSMQ) server and check it.
Apply and reboot.

I credit this tip to "thesilentclanleader" on youtube, thank you!!!

Rumble Fighter would also be less laggy if Brazil didn't invade.

Another tip :

1. Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Delete)
2. Delete unused programs excluding LOCAL SERVICE, and NETWORK Service and Svchost.exe

3. Delete explorer.exe (Your desktop will disappear including your task bar)

4. To bring back your desktop and taskbar, open Task Manager again, go to File > New Task > Run > explorer.exe

- At first this sounds all complicated but I always have explorer.exe deleted.

Registry editing = bad. Just thought I'd let you know that.

You should ask the help desk if a certain action is within guidelines BEFORE you decide to post/do them.
An eye for an eye means good business for me.

Look I can edit my registry all I like. As long as I don't edit options that I'm not supposed to.
BlackdTown I would like you to be quiet now. Unless you have some information that fits the guidelines and can help fix the RF communities lag, be quiet.

Thanks

True, this thread has mostly fixes to increase performance for all the kiddies on their 800hz machines but its hardly a bad thread.

Editing the registry is dangerous but its also a nice way to see Darwin in action. People who aren't smart enough to follow directions and get directions from a good source end up w/ broken computers.

Thanks for posting windowed mode trick, found it via google but its nice to see it here as well.

Ahh I've done quite abit more research and there are loads more things you can do to make this game more interesting. No hacking. Stuff like music, HQ Screens, portable playing. The last one well you can run this game on a psp. Via Usb cable. Video on the screen and everything.
