Topic: We need better mission guides

Seriously, the ones on the Wiki are antiquated. For example, the Dawn Skies mission recommends AR Wing Zero, surely there is another unit by now that is superior.

If someone wants to give a modern mission guide for Dawn Skies, it would be great. I failed it five times because I was probably doing it wrong.

Actually it recommends that or something else most of the time. It's just true to the fact that missions can be done another way if people don't suck. Honestly most people can't even properly use a Psycho during a mission. Psychos are hiding behind the people they're supposed to be tanking for. "BUT WHAT IF I TAKE DAMAGE!?". They can't even kill papers.

If anything you may notice guides ARE updated. They're updated a year in advance almost for Chronicle quests, listing how to beat quests we didn't even know when we'd get. They often recommend using units that aren't even available to the whole population yet, such as Kshatrya. I mean, I assume we're both reading the same mission guides here.

Well I dunno, AR Wing Zero doesn't seem like the kind of unit most people would even HAVE.

And NZ isn't set up for taking on Forbidden...so what could work as an alternative? Forbidden has I-Field so units like Psycho won't get far and are too slow anyway.

crossbone X-1 works for that mission, surprisingly.

if you get close, melee combo him. he's a scissor, so you will get a damage bonus.

Setups I used to EASILY complete Dawn Skies

Team 1
Rising Healer (Me) OC5 all DEF
NZ S
NZ SR
HWS

Team 2
Rising (Me)
NZ S
NZ S
Strike Freedom

Team 3 Basically the same, just kept changing up the last unit when a new person came in. Guess what, maybe you just aren't very good with NZ like the person who told me he couldn't get kills with it on the Battleships of Gunfire mission... Then he couldn't get kills in HACEW, then he couldn't in Psycho...

I can do fine melee-ing, but I tend to just run completely out of ammo if I try and shoot anything.

Maybe I should just invest in a V2 Buster.

AR WZ is a good mission suit for a couple missions.
it never runs out of ammo, does good damage, and zero system gives insane damage output.
It is good to use on missions where their are a lot of scissors and when there isn't a big focus on survival

yeah, those are pretty outdated. they give you a good guideline and all, but dont think that those are the only things worthy of the mission. there are still others that can do the job well.

i tried this.. setup

hws
nz
sr nz
and v2b or ar wz

1st phase, pretty straight forward.
2nd phase, camp until freedom is about to die

3rd phase.
HWS purges and uses beam machine gun on raider. shouldn't take too long.
sr nz also targets raider.
v2b, targets calamity.
The regular nz should go after forbidden.

Raider should die easily. after that, both hws and sr nzgo after calamity.
It should be nearly dead by then, hws and nz help you out to finish it. Then the v2b, sr nz and hws help nz go after forbidden.

have cyclops prepared (spam on boss)

easy >_>

When i did mwu grind.....

it was

NZ
V2B (clannie)
Arios (me)
+ w.e either beam or solid to help whoever can't kd the unit

I could take down calamity by myself, and clannie could take down raider by himself so nz + pubbie aims forbidden

or

NZ (me)
V2B (clannie)
w.e x 2

the w.e x 2 focus on the calamity since I can take down forbidden by myself and my clannie can take down raider by himself

Should point out that Rising healer can help distract the paper boss as well. NZ works fine for meleeing everything in that mission. IJ also works by the way.

So yeah, the guide isn't outdated at all. There are always variations in what works, like using Akatsuki at Solomon, or going up instead of down in phase 1 of battleships. It's a guide, as in a rough set of conditions that help you win. A mission suit is good for missions, that's why you acquire it. There are plenty of mission suits people don't have.
